Can you redefine your social role?

Situation: Missed orientation for my university and no one knows me well in my class (small group 15).
I don’t talk or sit with anyone during classes and feel very isolated in my department.
Sitting alone actually helps me focus on lectures better but I worry that the other students consider me strange.

I was encouraged to be more extroverted, so recently I pretended to be extremely social.
However now I think I appear even weirder!, as I went from introvert to extrovert overnight.

How do you redefine your social role in a class?

Consistency seems to be key in this instance ;)

Ask for help on something, it gives you an excuse to talk to them, and then you can get to know them better, and maybe they can get to know you better. Feel comfortable in your own skin, and be yourself, coz you’ll feel emptier if you fake it.
And maybe these people are just snobs, and you’re better off without them.
Good Luck
