Has anyone ever heard of a Hiccu-Burp?
It’s a cross between a hiccup and a burp. Sounds kind of like a loud screech sometimes.
A friend of mine has had them for over three years now and she is not sure if she should be concerned.
It is not continuos like hiccups, it just comes on suddenly(like a burp, hence the name “Hiccu-Burp”) and very loud at times. She said they started a few months before her wedding day.
After the wedding it did not happen too often so she figured it was her nerves, then she had a death in the family and after the funeral she started getting them allot more often and they started to hurt a little or make her vomit a little bit.
The worse ones were the really loud ones and the more active she was or the louder she talked seemed to bring them on stronger.
Then they seemed to settle down again for almost a year, what i mean by settling down is that on average, they occurred maybe 10-20 times in one week verses the 10 to 20 times a day when they are pretty bad.
Now they seem to be coming back stronger again, allot more often when they happen she automatically puts her hand right below her breast bone in the center, I can tell it makes her feel a little nauseated, that and she told me.
Her doctor is stumped on what it could be and it does not help that she never does it when she is at the doctors.
Yet you would think that if it were totally tied to her nerves than why did she not do it on her wedding day in front of all those people, yet as soon as she made her exit BAM.
And she always gets nervous going to the doctors yet nothing, but as soon as she leaves the building there it is.
Can anyone figure this out?
