Should I trade my three month-old 80GB PS3 for a used Xbox 360 Elite, over craigslist?

I bought my PS3 in November for $400. I like it, but I wish there were more games, and I was also very disappointed to learn that the new models do not support the immense PS2 library of games!

Anyway, without going into detail, there are several reasons why I like my PS3, too.

I want a 360 for these reasons: Exclusive GTA4 episodes, exclusive Fallout 3 downloadable content, Dead Rising, Mass Effect, and Fable II.

Both systems cost $400… but the PS3 is much more valuable, in my opinion. It has bluray, can run linux, and has a full-fledged internet browser. Plus, online play is free, while you have to pay for Xbox Live access.

What do you think? Good trade? Risky over craigslist? Should I just save up and buy a 360 new? I don’t have an extra $400 to blow right now.

Don’t trade it.
My xbox 360 recently broke on me.
Just keep the PS3 as it is more reliable and can play most games.
Just play GTA4 episodes, exclusive Fallout 3 downloadable content, Dead Rising, Mass Effect, and Fable II on your computer

The GTA4 episodes, Fallout 3 downloadable content, and Dead Rising are only available for Xbox 360, as far as I know.

Mass Effect and Fable II are available for PC, but I don’t have my PC right now. It is in storage in another state. A 360 would becheaper than building a new gaming rig.

I’ve heard that developer’s will make better games for PS3 in the future too. I’ve heard that right now, developer’s aren’t availing themselves of all the special processors of the PS3, but I think as they learn, games will be better in quality. (On paper, the PS3 is a powerhouse that trumps XBOX 360, but developer’s haven’t used it right.) Of course, I’ll tell you that is all hearsay, so take it with a grain of salt. But it is obvious that I suggest doing some research into the future capability and value of both consoles.

Yes trade in that ps3..

I had a ps3 but recently traded it in, i didint like the games that were on it, the internet was slow as ****, although it had free online play it wasn’t as fun as xbox 360 to me for some reason also none of my friends had a ps3 all of them had xbox. the controllers are 50$ each while xbox is like 20-30 thats a ridiculous price so i recommend yes trading in your ps3 for an xbox.

Thanks, but I have a computer now, so no need for an Xbox anymore. I’m happy. :)
