My computer won’t read any SanDisk memory cards anymore.

I don’t have the plugs that fit into the camera to get the pictures off that way either so now I have no way of getting the pictures. What could be wrong with it? The card reader used to always work and now it doesn’t even recognize that the SD is in there, except for the green light next to the card reader goes on when I insert it. Otherwise, the computer says there’s nothing in there. Does anyone know how to fix this??
