Downloading fonts to Windows Vista.

I knew exactly how to do it on Windows XP, but it doesn’t really seem to be working the same.

This is what it brings up first, when I click on download:

It doesn’t give me any option to change the location where it is being downloaded to.

And once I either click save or open, it brings this up:

I’m sure there is something simple I can do or something I’m not doing right, Idk. I’ve even tried moving the file to my ‘fonts’. Also, I’ve tried going to the ‘fonts’ and right click ‘install font’ and it doesn’t even bring them up once I browse for them. Please help. :(

So is it simply that you cannot find where it saved the font file too?

Well, sort of. I know exactly where the file is located (I think) ..
But when I go to control panel and to fonts, it doesn’t bring it up.

I even tried to extract the zip file to my fonts location and it didn’t work.

All right, did you look in other places then? Like downloads?
Maybe if you send me the website I can check it out and see how it works out on my computer.

Yep, I’ve tried looking everywhere.

Here’s the website: http://fontfreak.com/fonts-a.htm

All right, I just tried it myself and it’s not working for me either.
So I dunno what’s wrong. Have you uploaded other fonts from this site before?

Nope, this was my first time trying. Maybe I should just try somewhere else and see if that works?

Were you trying to get the same exact font?

Hmm, well I’ve used that same website before and the fonts worked out fine for me. Maybe it’s something wrong with your personal computer. Have you been having any other problems?

No, it’s basically a new computer. I haven’t even had it a year.

So, you know how to put fonts onto the computer properly then? Or is it your first time entirely?

I do, but I’ve never put them on this computer before. Plus, the other computer was Windows XP.

All right, well when you went into the control panel, did you go to classic view?

No.

All right, that might be where you went wrong then. On the left hand side of the control panel when it comes up, you should click the text that says “Classic View.” Then there click Fonts. Then, bring up another window by opening up “My Computer” or something, and locate the font. Then, drag and drop the font from that window into the window open with the fonts.
