Take a financial management class. Get a better job or barring that get a second job. Join the military. Shred your credit cards… pay them off… never use them again… Stop buying crap you don’t need. Learn to live within your means.

what is free money? I have never heard of such things!
ok no you said you couldnt get student loans, so is it car payments? what do you owe on ?
I went to the bank to ask them for a zero interest loan.
They had zero interest in giving me a loan!
How much does your job pay ? are you living at home ?loans dont cut it nick she has to get out of the mess shes in now. Shes got herself into it, now she wants bailout its not going to happen sorry. :-)
She isn’t responding… just another person who wants someone to give them free money for no work… why do these people come on here? Do they really think anyone is going to just give them money???
We must look like Bill Gates on all our profiles!
Shes not answering so I guess shes gone offline ? 1,500 can be paid off in less than a year, to do it you have the throw everything you can at these debts. Stop buying the things you dont need, stop buying take outs, shop at goodwill until you’ve paid it all off, I owe nobody nothing, it can be done.
Thing is you get YOURSELF into this mess by credit, the only person thats going to get ut out of it is you, there is no hand outs :-)
As Khyron said, “live within your means” life is not about have now pay later, it always sepells trouble.
Take cash from the bank, give yourself a weekly allowance, when you spend cash, you see where your money is going, credit cards only make you overspend, its like a virtual world, you dont realize how much you’ve spent until you get that statement. With cash once its gone its gone, you’ll be surprised how much it cuts back your spending.
i pay all my bills on time, but someone trying to keep themselves out of jail put my name in return and there was a warrant for my arrest i didnt know about. i ended up having to go to jail for a nite and got bailed out and the case dismissed, but now i have to not only pay back the bail, but the friends and family that helped me that night and i was barely able to pay for things i need to pay for, like school and my car and phone
i go to school fulltime, and work as a teacher inbetween that. its a debt i shouldnt have, but i dont even have the money to sue who put me in the situation.
get rid of your phone that is a want not a need
if the car is too expensive dump it for something cheap that you can pay off right away
as for school student loans and grants will pay most of your bills.
With the lack of interest to pay , you can save money in the bank or wherever, then when you need something the money is there, you go out and buy it, and the pleasure is , you owe nobody any interest on your purchase, hence you are getting it for 15-20% less…. ok read what you wrote there, now if you go in for student loans again you are sinking more into debt, can you put your schooling on hold for a period or not ? this way you could get a part time job as well as the full time one, that debt would be paid off real quick.
i cant get rid of my phone, i do everything with it, and that wouldnt be an option. its only 30$ a month. my car is paid off. and i have no credit so this student loan thing isnt really working.
why would you need credit for a student loan???? I was offered tens of thousands of dollars worth of loans when I went to college and I had zero credit the whole time.
i live with my fam and i pay them 400 a month
400 a month to live in a bedroom??? Are you serious??? That is a rip off!
you just do, ive been spending months trying to get a loan from every angle possible and everytime i dont get it because of ‘insufficient credit’
scholarships??? Me??? HAHAHAHA not even I was a retard in HS they wouldn’t have given me a scholarship if I put a gun to their heads hahahaha
yea, but my parents pay alot to live where we live. they can waive the rent thing for a second, but only until i fix my current situation, which is the problem.
Orlib would your family, put your rent on hold for a while until you can get this paid ?
Then I dont understand Khyron how you had so much money thrown at you, student loans have to be paid back. Where were the offers coming from ?
which country are we talking about anyway??? Because every country has different rules
Ok well fixing your current situation is your priority orlib, why don’t you do that throw that rent at the debt, and then sort it all out after that, maybe you can help more at home to make up for it.
i wasnt going to have the rent this month anyway, after paying everything i have about 50 bucks
Khyron are you sure with these offers you wouldn’t have had to pay them back ?
I filled out my FICA forms like everyone else and turned them into the school. They then pulled up the report to show me all the loans and grants I was eligable for. Every semester I took every grant they offered me and I never used the loans but I was offered about 5000 dollars a semester worth of loans. I just never took them. I lived within my means during college. But had I wanted them I could have taken them.
I went to college at Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!!!)
So cali isn’t much different than arizona. The rules are all the same. Fill out your FICA every semester before you start school and see what the government says you are eligable for. If you are a full time student you should be eligable for pell grants and loans… Yes loans have to be repaid but not until 6 months after you graduate college. You can use the loans from school to help get you out of your current debt and then pay off those loans before you actually graduate. Most loans don’t mind if you start paying early.
At least I think the abreviation if FICA I know it started with an F :-) man my memory sucks these days… college sucked it all out of me hehehe
i do, my parents make over 200,000 and i get nothing. all of those options have been tried since my senior year of hs 3 years ago.
My daughter is in first year of college and has the hope scholarship did you qualify for that ? either of you ?
I don’t even know what a hope scholarship is but I might have qualified for it back in the day had I known what it was.
student loan interest rates vary with the loan agency
The hope scholarship is the lottery money hon. she had to get a 3.0 average in high school to get it .
Im shooting from the hip here orlib, but with your parents earning that kind of money, why aren’t they helping with your college ?
my grades are perfect, but its taking a while for ppl to get back to me about a scholorship. my parents put themselves thru college and they think i should do the same.
Thats all well and good orlib, but things have sure changed since their day, its a whole new ballgame for kids these days.
Personally, Id hate to see my kids leave school in debt up to their necks when they finish college. At the least they could loan you the money interest free if they have it. :-)
my mom didnt finish until my senior year, she just did it. and my parents just arent like that.
Sorry hon I don’t get you there, your mum didn’t finish what ? paying off her student loans you mean ?
her schooling
and she did it with a husband and 2 kids and house, so its not hard to see why they want me to do it on my own.
Nothing wrong with making it on your own. It means more when you earn your degree knowing you put all the effort into it and didn’t have to rely on others to help you. Whether one talks about financial or educational. It is all the same. Some parents want to pay for their kids schooling others don’t. I think the kids that pay their own way through school and have to learn how to manage their money in order to make it through school come out with a better understanding of how hard it is to make it in the real world. A lot of the kids that have parents pay their way don’t put as much interest into their schooling. They just go through the motions and don’t appreciate what they have earned.
i didnt say there was a problem, school isnt the problem rite now, my debt is.
You are going to have debt for most if not all the rest of your life honey. If you only have 1500 dollars debt then you are golden. I have more than that on just my visa. Plus two cars a morgage and my wife’s student loans trust me 1500 isn’t that bad at all.
