klutz help: Hi, I’m a bright college student who desperately wants to study medicine. - Help.com

Hi, I’m a bright college student who desperately wants to study medicine.

My problem is I’m a total klutz! I forget major and minor things on a daily basis and I can’t seem to be able to concentrate on repetitive tasks, like at work. My mind is a scatter brain and I drift in and out of fantasy lands, like main character in scrubs. I’m lost and don’t know what to do. I’m incompetent at everything but school. What if anything can I do about my clumsiness?

Perhaps you could get a job at the circus as a clown :-) hahaha
just kidding
If your mind is wandering in and out of fantasy land situations then you are bored and need to find new ways to stimulate your brain. Perhaps you need physical excercise to help you focus better. Or you are one of those super smart types who isn’t challenging your brain enough even in medical school.

Try meditation or other calming, relaxing things. When your mind is relaxed, you can focus on the tasks at hand.

You know, I have a friend just like you. She is in the same predicament. The problem is she never slows down to let her self think. Maybe you have the same problem. She gets so caught up in the tiny, mundane things of life, that she misses the things right in front of her.

Write a to-do list and stick to it. Get one thing on it done a day.
keep it with you throughout the day, and jot down whatever it is before it gets the chance to slip away. Medicine requires a strong memory and a very very focused and persistent albeit patient lifestyle. Eventually your memory will improve but at your stage your mentally immature and unready to study medicine

i don’t mean to offend you, but the way you present yourself as a forgetful person i dont think medicine is right for you. I sure wouldnt like my doctor to be a klutz but its really up to you if you work hard enough for anything you will get it.
And seeing as you arent very open to other sides and to different opinions of others tells a lot about you and if you take that as an insult i cant wait to see you get into the reality of the harsh real world.
