I cant dance. - Help.com

I cant dance.

Its a shame, but i just dont know how to move, ive tried but i just move awkward. Can any one help. Perhaps leading me to a video were theres dancing, i don need or want anything fancy i just want to be able to have a good time….oh say like at the prom perhaps. So please?

get comfortable with yourself. If you are awkward, just try to lossen up and sway to the music. Don’t do any “moves” if you haven’t got relaxed and in time worked out.

Go take some lessons, its hard to learn to be comfortable with others and moving while just watching a vid.

find some teen movies that have a prom in them. Ignore the lead couple, they are way to beautiful and will just make you feel ugly, watch the extra’s dancing in the background - and just join it

Get comfy in front of the mirror first. Sounds funny but it could help.

- either don’t lift your feet of the ground or take tiny steps. ( or mosh like a mad thing at a concert)

- smile comfortably.

- keep your arms out of the space directly in front of you. High or low, side is the place - this gives partner a entry space that they can enjoy with out fear of being clobbered.

Get someone to teach you to move on beat. The two step is an easy dance that goes with really any song… Baby steps, my friend.
