I want to get my boyfriend a movie for valentines day,

but were in a long disance relationship at the moment, and i dont know if he has the movie already…

Does anyone have any ideas on how i can ask him if he has it, with out letting him know i want to get it for him?

Well, you can’t really ask him, it would sound like “can you tell me which movie you don’t have so I know what to give you”, so I would say to go on a gamble and just pick one randomly and hope that he dosen’t have it, or buy more then one.

When it comes to gifts, it’s the thought that counts. So I’m sure he’ll love the movie even if he already has it.

Here’s one idea you could try though. Start by saying that a friend of yours was talking to you about this movie, and then ask if he’s seen it. If he hasn’t then he probably doesn’t own it. If he has, then say it sounds good and that maybe you could watch it together one day. Then ask if there’s a video rental store nearby where he could rent it. If he doesn’t say anything about not needing to rent it, then you know he doesn’t have it.
