Hey sorry I just checked my notices and got this. But for what’s it’s worth: Next time you’re feeling like that and you simply can’t stop thinking, take one thought at a time. Think it all the way through, until you’ve got some closure, or just some idea of why it keeps reoccuring over and over. Now I realize there’s not enough time in the day to get through every thought, but when that happens to me trying to go through them calms me down a bit, at least enough that things quiet down up there.

And if that doesn’t work, especially when the thoughts aren’t violent, do something you enjoy that needs your full attention. Playing an instrument, painting, reading, something repetitive like playing solitare, learning cardtricks, something silly, like rancing (run/dancing), call someone and make them tell you a story…and now I’m rambling..

Point is do something good for yourself, don’t just sit there and let the thoughts attack you!!

Haha…I hope that was in someway helpful :P

Kam,
I was just pondering this post lately, and I remembered some other useful ways of defeating stress:

Step 1:
Gather all of your tasks together (instead of having them all over the place) and split them then into 3 groups,

Group A:
These are the most important tasks that have to be done immediately (and not everything will fall under that group if it does then you need to rethink which is more important)

Group B:
These are just slightly less important and you get to them asap but after you have finished Group A.

Group C:
These are the least important and you do them whenever you want.

Step 2:
Complete Group A first, taking a break every so often preferably every hour (brain works better if you stop and take a walk around the room every hour. spending no longer than 4 hours on each group and leaving the second group for the next day or 2 hours later.

Step 3:
Relax for yourself you have just gotten all your important work done!!!
