I am thinking about changing my major to interior design, but I am worried about what I will do once I graduate bc of the economy.

Should I let the poor economy stop me?

I’m also doing Interior design. I’ve finished my degree and am now doing post grad, however i started my course three years ago when the economy was’nt so bad. I guess it depends on your situation. What major are you currently doing and why do you want to change?

There are 2 parts to this answer:

1)The best advice anyone can give you on this subject is: Do what you love. Don’t worry about the money. The money will come if you’re doing something you love. Just stick with whatever you’re most excited about. You’ll be doing it so much because it wont seem like work to you, so much that you will be more of an expert than those people who are just doing it as a job because they have to. And all of a sudden, you’ll be getting more clients because you’re the best expert out there. Trust me, just do what you love, and dont worry about money at this point.

2)If you are considering changing your major, then that means that you have around 2 or more years left. Most people agree that within 2 years the economy will already be getting better. So I wouldn’t make a change for the worst that would impact the rest of your life for only 2 years that you’re still going to be in college anyway.

You’re welcome!

….meaning…if Interior Design is what you want to do, and you still have 2 years to go, then the economy is not going to affect you that much. And your love of what you are doing will outweigh any negatives anyway. So go for it.

yeah, I am only in my second semester of my freshman year. I am changing my major because I realized the work load for my current major (Vet. Tech.) is unrealistic. Interior Design has always been a “back burner” dream. Thanks!
