Money help: Hello. - Help.com

Hello.

I’m not going to be putting my name up because frankly I am embarrassed…

I don’t ask for help, ever. In fact this may not even make it to the submit button…

Okay! Here is my issue: I am a Caucasian, 21 year old male college student that rose up from the slums of SEVERAL different housing projects. My mother still lives is public housing and works a minimum wage job. My father is 100% disabled. I’m unable to get any support from them financially because neither of them have the money. I do get financial aid, though.

I am currently 7,000$ in debt due to student loans, a prior electric bill and a hospital bill.

I wouldn’t dream of asking anyone to clear that. That’s just the burden that beats against my brain throughout this recession.

My CURRENT electric bill is 300$, they haven’t shut it off because of winter in Illinois.

I pay my own rent, cell phone, car insurance, electric, water, food and gas while attending full-time college to eventually go to law school and I am also a music artist.

I am a great student, I sat as a head position on my schools activity board and I also got Who’s Who last year for colleges.

My vehicle was made in 1995 and has over 160,000 miles and a bent front right rim.

Can anyone help me with anything? I wish I could say I’m not asking for a free hand out but I am because I just don’t know what to do.

If someone is interested in helping me I can provide them with pictures and documentation to anything stated above.

Thanks…

No I’m not whoever you are talking about. I’m a legitimate student in desperate need! Please no more posts like the one above it is disheartening.

sorry, but we can’t give money. Some guy was on here yesterday bc a drug deal gone bad. He wanted “exactly 425 dollars”. We can only offer advice, though we feel your pain. Do you share you rent with anybody? what about turning off the cell for a while? playing at a club on weekends? just some ideas. Bake Valentine cookies. Let people decorate their own. Sell the cookies for 50 cents each. Make little cards to go with them, kinda like fortune cookies.
Just some ideas. Sorry buddy. I have had trouble myself. I know it isn’t easy. Keep it up, your efforts will pay off eventually.

thank you, you’re very inspiring. I do things like that, maybe not cookies lol. I just am a very busy person with everything going on in my life. it’s not easy to have such a bright outlook when you try hard all day and come home to no progress, other than education.

my income: 900 ish monthly

Thanks :)
I have been there. In fact, I am still there.
make clear rules written and SIGNED for roomies. go military style!
~down let them leave you stuck with their phone bills,
~make sure they buy their own food,
~add the price of heat for winter, divide it by 12, then in two again for two people, then add it to their rent
~put bunks in, it means more roomies, and less rent
~have lights out, volume and no drug rules.
~have a chore chart too.
~have sleepover rules too. Any more than two days per months and they are considered moved in and pay the same rent rate.
~at the end of the list, put that they can be asked to move with 7 days notice. (in case problems arise)
If they don’t like it, you can always find somebody else to move in cuz your rent would be the cheapest in town.
good luck! Really, I mean that!
