Is it better to vacuum or dust first?

Its just that my room gets really dusty really quickly and i was wandering which way round would get rid of the most dust. I’m afraid that if i vacuum last, the dust that gets thrown up will settle on where ive dusted but if i dust last the dust will fall on the carpet…

You could just get one of those air filter things, they collect up dust.or dust, vacuum and then dust again if you’re worried not getting it all lol

Vacuum first.

You are right.. vacuuming does throw up dust.

So, as Grim says, wait a while before dusting. A little spray polish or furniture wax on your cloth will pick up more than a dry cloth.

The dust that falls on your carpet will get caught by the vacuum next time around.

Think about what activities occur in the room to cause excess dust. Changing clothes, drying off after a shower, playing with pets.. all can exacerbate a problem. See what activities you can move elsewhere (eg. play with the pet outside).

If you live in a particularly busy street, you could consider installing better draught proofing.

Throw the windows open for an hour before vacuuming to refresh the air. It may sound contradictory, but it is essential for good health.

You could also consider investing into anti-allergen cushions and pillows and removing the carpet entirely if the dust is causing asthma problems.

Id rather just watch tv. Not like you completely get rid of dust so the order doesn’t really matter imo

Deal.

Laundry can be done at arms length using a grabber stick…

I’ve always vacummed first and then used a special dust cloth which picks up almost all dust, that way less get’s left behind or floats away. ^_^
