I need to find a way to keep my power and water on.

My husband has not worked for 6 months and I’m doing all I can. He will have a job in about a month and things will be OK but we will probably loose a lot of perishable goods and skip quite a few baths And sit in the dark for a while with no air in Florida. Not complaining… we will handle things somehow.I just hate that our daughters have to endure as much, they also need school uniforms! Oh well Maybe I’m just venting about our stressed situation that everyone around seems to have to. but help would be appreciated!

Cut off the internet and pawn your computer. We are all in a financial crunch around here.

You posted that he had a job in a month

“He will have a job in about a month and things will be OK”

I’m not trying to be mean here but if he already has the job then he won’t need the computer to look for one. Also, do you work? If not then why don’t you find something that you can do in the meantime. There is nothing wrong with working at Mickey D’s when you need to.

Dial 211 to see if your State has activated this resource line. If so, ask for emergency assistance to prevent utility cut off. If they don’t have such a thing, Google utility assistance in your area or Florida for possible results.

Hope this helps.

P.S. Please post progress reports.

They have a program for heat–go to to your gas company/oil and water co. Joe kennedy helps low income people with oil. In my state—the Gas company have a program called HEAP. They will help you. Do you get welfare or unemployment? They will tell you about the program.
