People are acting like Rihanna is the only woman to get hit by a man.

Or am I the only one who thinks that?

It’s because they’re celebrities. And some people are just so dramatic when it comes to celebrities.
They’re just celebrities, I don’t understand why a lot of people always want to know about them.

Media exaggeration! they just give her this heroic thing…..Instead of focusing on violence against women….I don’t know what kinda person hits his wife or sister or Girl friend!

Rihanna gets all this news coverage because a lot of people look up to her. And for us to think that a boy is pushing her around and beating the **** out of her and NO ONE else did anything is wrong. I mean when a wife gets beat up no one knows about it. But Rihanna has handlers and people who are constantly watching over her and they must have realized that she was bruised up pretty bad. Her eye-patch wasn’t even part of a costume it was because he scratched her cornia. So someone knew and did nothing.
Hopefully Rihanna takes a stand to this and starts to help other battered women.

see people always talk about how females get bashed by thier partners and its all like “awww poor miss muffit” or “he should be in jail etc etc”… but when a guy is bashed by his g/f he’s labelled as a whimp and if he hits her back for self defence or something he’s a bad guy again….
dont get me wrong I hate seeing girls being bashed up by blokes or even hearing about it but where’s the fairness in that?

ya its not that easy, when you love this person sooo much you’ll do anything for them including stay with them. Love is an amazing and powerful feeling in which it could make you do some good and bad things…

There are other things too. If you have children with the abusive person, it’s hard to leave, especially if he/she is the one bringing home the money. You want your children to do well, and you want to be able to feed them, clothe them, etc. Even if it means getting physically and emotionally abused, and seeing your children go through it too. That’s my guess anyway.

ya i see where your coming from tears, and no its not bad lol..
but ya you are correct in asking if they love you than why do they hit you? although love is powerful so is jealousy and anger. and with children alot of times its too late, they’ve had the kid or some people wait til marriage to be that physical idiot…too many answers lol

I’m only speaking from experience. My dad hits us (my siblings and I) all the time, and he says he does it because he loves us very much, and to make us realize what we’re doing wrong. But all it does is make us hate him. Especially with the things he says. Mom gets hit too, and I’m sure she wants to leave him and take us with her, but she has nowhere to go. We’re not exactly the richest people on earth, and dad’s the only one that works. He’s a solicitor, but he doesn’t make much money. I don’t know, he’s pretty messed up.

okay…. i don’t think that he’s messed up i think (but i don’t know if this is right)he gets pretty tired when he comes back home he can’t think and he can see anything and he sees a problem he just thinks of the simplest solution … just put your self in his shoes and try to understand where he’s coming from

Yeah, I can only imagine how hard it is to be him. But that doesn’t mean he has to resort to violence. He needs help and he knows it, but does nothing about it.

just try to get over it and act in front of him like a grown up and he’ll respect you more….and tell him that he doesn’t send signs of love to you when he does it but he sends signs of anger and it doesn’t help you when he does it…
