I am from the Chicago Paranormal Detectives.

We are a paranormal investigative organization comprised of off duty Police Officers. If you or anyone you know, (in the Chicago area) is in need of some answers, feel free to contact me at any time.

Thanks.

Too bad you are not in Pennsylvania. I think my house has “Shadow People”, me and the rest of my family have seen them but have not had any direct interaction with them.

Any advice?

Im not in Chicago but I had an incident just the other week that spooked me enough to post myself about it, however there was no one around at the time that could help me, do you by any chance know of other organizations like urs that may be close to myself?

On another note, would love to hear about some of your cases

(Anonymous) Im sorry, Im new on this site, Im not sure where your from. In most areas you can find paranormal groups which are established. Most of these have open membership for others to join. The Chicago Paranormal Detectives is the only group I have found which is staffed by actual investigators. Policemen are born skeptics and we require hard evidence before we can consider anything to be paranormal. We have worked numerous cases with alot of different occurences. I can tell you that working in this field makes you re-think everything you thought you knew.

(Vladislav.re) Sorry Im so far away. First you have to ask yourself if you really want answers to what you suspect. Will you be able to remain comfortable in your home if you record something that cannot be explained? If you can, get a digital audio recorder. It doesnt have to be expensive. Figure out some questions. Turn it on and start asking some things out loud. Try it for 5 minutes. Pause in between questions. Make sure your area is free from distractions. Play it back and listen for things that dont make sense. Voices, answers etc. Set up a camcorder in an attempt to record any strange images. Ask yourself what your going to do if you come across something.

Sounds so interesting! to prowl through the unknown, terrified of what you just felt scurry over your foot, just to learn it was infact a series of intricate explanations that all lead to a ‘haunting’
Im not a total skeptic or anything, just find it very interesting, but more so that you are an actual investigator of the truth, not just another ghost hunter.
Im in Australia, no investigations for me :( but I’d love to hear any case you are looking for help or advice with

Morgan,

Thanks for your interest. When we present evidence in court, we must establish absolute certainty. There is no room for speculation. For us, the bar is set very high. Due to being held accountable at all times (and) our professional reputations, we cannot afford to be anything less than certain.

Chicago has many areas in and around the city purportedly haunted. We do not jump to conclusions. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

By the way, we offer help and advice, we arent looking for it. lol.

Thanks Morgan, keep in touch.

Curiously
Have you ever had any cases where an individual might have been haunted.
Like say with incidences through there childhood of seeing dark figures through the corner of there eye once in a while and/there bed shaking, not so much like the exorsist type shaking but enough to where it shakes as if someone were underneath the bed. Also, sometimes like someone is getting onto the bed and being to paralyzed with fear to move with the covers over my head.
Sometimes even waking up with scratches on my neck or wrist when i was about 9 or 10.I was certain something was there-i would not even go near my closet, it was one of those closets with a spin rack and you could actually walk inside, but i did not like to put my clothes in there or get them out, i would open the door, give the rack a quick spin and stand back until i seen what I was gonna wear then gave it a quick yank-slammed the door and ran.
Just curious because, I don’t think I was crazy because when our family moved it seemed to follow, did’nt bother me as much after my twenties.
In fact i even had a friend over when I was 17 and told her about it and that night she felt it too so i knew it wasn’t just me, ofcourse she freaked out and told me she was never staying over again.

Aurora,

In darkness, your peripheral vision is much greater than looking at something directly. There is a belief that “spirits” can move at a very fast pace. So, there is some creedence to your claim.

It is also a (belief)when we are very young, our minds allow things to be seen which it filters out later in life. This (theory) revolves around the (belief)the older we get, the more logical we become and we naturally become narrow minded in relation to things which make no sense. This is also (supposedly) why animals see things we do not. The (belief) goes on to suggest we subconciously eliminate illogical visions because we have no explanation for them. If we were allowed to continue to see this throughout our lives, we may not be able to handle it mentally because it is beyond our comprehension. Mediums are people who have been able to retain this skill into adulthood.

A substantial amount of reported activity takes place when people are in bed. This has always caused our organization to take these claims with a grain of salt. When we hear this so often, we have to consider alot of people may be in a transitional state where they are not yet in a deep sleep and may have a hard time seperating a dream mode from truly being completely concious. The line between awake and semi-awake gets blurred when so many claims involve people in bed.

Speaking of sleeping and the bedroom, many people twitch and move about more than they realize when sleeping. I have woken myself up many times to find my bed mildly shaking. It is my twitching in my sleep which causes this. Additionally, we sometimes enter a state of (sleep paralysis) where our body does not allow itself to “twitch” and move around. It is a sort of defense mechanism to protect ourselves from potentially self inflicting injuries. Also keep in mind, we can all freak ourselves out very easily and we can influence others as well. The power of suggestion is huge. Fear generates more fear.

If you have some recordable evidence to back up your claims, then thats a different story.

Videotaping yourself sleep is also very educational.

I hope Ive given you some answers.

Ron

Actually, it has not happened anymore lately since I moved into my very first house, oddly enough, I have felt allot safer here and much less paranoid.
I still go to sleep with the covers over my head sometimes if my husband is not in there with me.
I was never sleeping though when the bed shook, it was always before I went to bed, I had a hard time going to sleep unless I fell asleep in the living room and my parents put me to bed, but all I did was lay there and try to think of what i was going to do the next day until I could fall asleep so I would not think about it, most of the time I would pull the sheets over my head so I wouldn’t see anything, but then I would feel the mattress go down at the corner of the bed as if someone were sitting on it and I would hold perfectly still and even try to hold my breath hoping it would go away.
There were a few times that I was so scared to move for such a long time that i might of blacked out because I did not remember finally falling a sleep-probably from holding my breath so much.
But I was just curious if there were actually any credible cases that were similar to that.
