Alright I’m starting to get pissed actually

Every night it’s the same thing. I lie in bed waiting to feel tired, waiting to fall asleep so I can have the energy to accomplish something the next day, but I end up just lying and lying and lying and its really, really, REALLY, starting to piss me off. I mean It’s been this way for about a month and a half 2 months now. SERIOUSLY. I am sick and tired of being up till 5 am not being able to fall asleep and then I finally fall asleep and don’t wake up until 2 pm! HALF THE DAM DAY IS GONE BY THE TIME I WAKE UP. not to mention, I have to go run at around 6 pm, and I don’t know if I will have the energy to do it because I can’t freaking sleep! I’m at the end of my dam rope here! I mean christ! I’ve tried natural sleep aids that are supposed to make you drowsy and want to go to sleep, I’ve taken the maximum amount recommended and I haven’t so much as yawned!

Is there any safe sleeping medication out there that anyone has tried that actually works? Not to be mean, but I don’t want to pull a Ledger.

A good structured exercise routine is best to get your circadian rhythm back on a good track

I find that the more I try to sleep the harder it is to get to sleep, meditation is very very good, have you tried it? It will teach you how to relax and swirch of. If you have lots on your mind you may need to get to the bottom of some deep rootted problem thats keeping you up at night?
Anything other than lack of sleep worrying you?

No nothing in particular really. I do have a lot of random thoughts popping into my head whenever I am not tired and am just lying in bed. And I do mean random, not so much important or bothersome. I have tried breathing methods, it didn’t really help. Someone once told me that people who do yoga try to think about absolutely nothing to calm themselves. I do not see how that is possible, as my mind is always thinking about something, even if I am trying not to. Seriously I can’t even begin to imagine what thinking about absolutely nothing would feel like. Isn’t that technically going brain dead? Anyways, yea see what I mean? I am a big rabbit trail-er -_-. Gah.

Anyways, how does this meditation work?

heheh I do yoga and this is how I found out about it, I can do it easily my friend is having more difficulty, basically whenever thought pops into your head you ignore it, don’t entertain the thought by letting it become a story in your head, as soon as one pops into your head you are meant to do an ooohhhmmm sound, but if this isn’t possible count your breaths in so 4 counts in through your nose and 4 counts out through your mouth, really concerntrate in your lungs filling up and your stomach rising and falling, everytime another random thought trys to pop in and believe me it’s not easy and they just keep coming, you can have been clear headed for 5-10 minutes when another completly random thought may pop in do the breathing again or google meditation and listen to a meditation tape they get all your head clear

I can imagine hon how hard it must be, look into relaxation tecniques, you can’t sleep probably because you are having problems turning off, there is a site called my inner world, it’s a bit airy fairy but there are some good meditation tape on there for free, and you don’t have to do the journey but it may help you to unlock whats bothering you??

sorry when I laughed it wasn’t at your situation but at the fact I learnt to clear my mind through yoga, it’s not easy and you have to give it time, but it may be worth a try?

Oh no worries about the laugh lol, its just I have so much to do and now I have to sleep and wake up late in the day and then I won’t be tired again when I want to go to bed. I suppose there are little things bothering me that I really bury because I really don’t want to think about them right now but its nothing major like life or death stuff. I will try to find out more about this meditation stuff though, I guess it’s different than what I thought which is I thought you had to make your mind go completely blank. Thanks for the help anyways.

It sometimes helps if you write things down that you need to do, like if the thoughts are about oh tomorrow I need to do this and that and so so needs calling back, keep a notebook next to your bed and write these things down, don’t go to bed thinking another restless night and another struggle to get to sleep because those thoughts will go through your mind and keep you awake, I was an insomniac for years I know how frustrating it can be, I hope that meditation can help
