I am in so much pain. - Help.com

I am in so much pain.

So much pain. I can barely breathe. It’s my stomach, but the top of my stomach, maybe just slightly above it. Oh god. It’s the middle of the night where I am but I am just rocking backwards and forwards crying from the pain. I took tablets three hours ago, and then just now. And i have tried a hot water bottle, but that just immediately made it worse. Help. Oh god this HURTS

appendix is on one side though, this is firmly all over. I really want to wait and see if it gets better. I’d hate to call someone and then to feel better suddenly after causing so much fuss. It just sucks. If it lasts another 45 minutes I will wake up a member of my family and see what they say. I wish I had some ibuprofen. I just have panadol, and that’s what I took

I called someone and they said it was probably food poisoning and it would go away. They just basically told me to go to bed. I have half an hour left until I actually go back and say that no, I need help. It’s not better at all, and I really can’t handle this amount of pain

Call some other member of the family if you have too. Go to the doctor immediately. It could also be a gallbladder or an appendix attack. Both are pretty painful. the pain goes across the stomache just below the rib cage.

You can’t afford to waste a lot of time, it could be life threatening if the appendix were to burst.

You could go to a hospital emergency room. At a minimum they could give you a painkiller like morphine.

You could also try taking some Pepto-Bismol. It comes in pill form if you don’t like the liquid and usually helps with stomach aches.

I’m thinking, emergency room. At the very least call your doctor.

Food poisoning will make you violently throw up. Appendicitis can be in more than just one side. It starts in the middle of the abdomen and then moves to one side. Gallbladder can do the same thing. If you don’t get relief in the next little bit it would be worth a trip to an ER.

It’s fairly ok now. I tried calling my doctor, but it gave me another number to call which directed me to calling an ambulance, which I didn’t need. So we rang the hospital to see if they new a doctor on call and they said to just come in. They did a bunch of tests and in the end just gave me 5 different antibiotics. Apparently my white blood cell count was high which shows I am fighting an infection. And they gave me something for the pain. I have another scan to morrow to check something, but I feel 90% better. I’m just hoping I don’t get worse again. Thanks for all your help guys!

Thats exactly what it felt like juliette. Exactly the same. My doctor sent me for a scan for it, but it was clear. I think it was just an unexplainable once off thing. The doctor in the hospital tried to tell me that it was from coughing too much when I had had a chest infection (which I still apparently had) but I found that very hard to believe. I couldn’t breathe with the pain and I was rocking back and forth and literally crying. How can that be from coughing too much????? She just didn’t have a clue what was wrong so tried to pin it on something. My normal doctor didn’t say that, he just said eat a bland diet for two weeks, and if it happens again I might be able to connect the two events and see a trigger.

Until I had a pelvic reconstruction I would have never thought that coughing could hurt my hips but it really does. You could have very easily pulled something when you coughed.
