But what it is used for is most of the time…

And sharing files is not illegal only sharing copyrighted files which ask you to agree to follof the copyright laws based upon your act of opening the CD or so on is illegal…
So, if you write a song and make a video of it and share it using limewire thats totally legal…

really? I had no clue! Even just getting songs for listening to at my house?

No the software itself isn’t illegal…but the sharing/downloading of the media is.

No its not illegal.
In Canada you can even download copywrited files.
But it is illegal to upload those copywritted files if you don’t have
permision to do so.

Many owners of copywritten materials purposely give them away.
You can’t therefor stop general use of software that allow you to do this.

I think Live songs and demo’s are safe to download…I’m not 100% sure though.

I have written a Garden and Landscaping program which I have
considered letting people use for free.
However I have not yet because my program contains copywritten
materials which I don’t have permission to give away.

I think even in the Us viewing of material online isnt illegal but downloading copyrighted material is…
So if your listening to it online without downloading it its cool!
But, remember limewire isnt illegal and has alot of good uses!

yeah if limewire was completely illegal, they would habve stopped it already.

theres a diffrence, if limewire was illegal they would just sue who ever manages it, thats alot easier then finding everyone in the country with marijuanna.
