Favorite Indian lunch buffet
Believe it or not, there’s actually quite a few Indian restaurants here in Louisville. For dinner I like Kashmir down in the Bardstown Road area. But for a quick lunch I heartily recommend the buffet at Shalimar off Hurstbourne Lane.
Now it’s not the biggest buffet you’ve ever seen, but it makes up in quality what it might lack in quantity. There’s usually three or four meat entrees, and an equal number of vegetarian. Plus a good selection of salads and deserts. My favorite is the chicken with yogurt and cashew (sorry, can’t recall the name). And the lamb curry is also outstanding. Among the deserts my favorite is the fruit in mango pudding concoction, and the shredded carrot cake is also yummy.
It’s not the cheapest buffet around–it’ll set you back about $7.50 just for the buffet, drink and tip not included. Still for a good fast taste of Indian food at lunch it is the best around.
