My mother is raising 3 kids that aren’t hers.

They are loosely related to her by her previous marriage. Their mother is an irresponsible person who doesn’t care about anyone but herself. She visits her 3 sons about once a month (because my mother calls to remind her). My mother gets no cash aide for these children and she is not a wealthy person. She was layed-off from her job as a secretary about a year and a half ago and has only recently been able to find work. Well, today we found out that my cousin (the mother of the 3 boys) may be pregnant again. If she is, the State will ask my mother to take the new baby. If she decideds to take this child, she will get foster care aide but only for this last child. Does anyone know about any programs my mother may be able to get help from? We live in California. Any help would be much appreciated.

well maybe you should try taking her to some child care places and even maybe she should get wellfair or wealthfair i cant remember whats its called but it is something like that

Can she not get aod for dependent children from the county DHS? Since neither parent is supporting the children she should qualify.

Help me with: This was written for me and my husband after our motorcycle accident and was published in a couple for biker magazines.

I don’t know what happened to the father of these kids. I think he just kind of disappeared after he got her pregnant with the last one.

I know she’s tried to get help but they told her that since she was still technically related to the family by marriage when the kids were born she doesn’t qualify for much. I think she gets WIC and a couple hundred dollars in food stamps a month for them but that’s all.
