Forget about the couch, think about the books.
For those who are sick and tired of being sick and tired of working hard for other people. So you just got home from a long day of work and begin to contemplate what you can do to change the course of your life’s event…when I say events, I mean the 40 hrs a week event. In all that thinking, you have an “aha” moment and come up with the BIG IDEA that you know will make you millions. You though about everything you could accomplish by working for yourself. You have completed your research, wrote down your mission statement, made your cold calls and tested your products or services with family and friends. You are ready to launch your own business to the world and collect your unbelievable success. There is only one thing holding you back - Money, lots of them. First of all, I want to debunk the myth that you have to have ton of money to get your company started. Microsoft, Ford, Hewlett-Packard are a few example of garage based companies that started with less the $500. Not to mention that they all started during recessions. So if you think that your biggest problem is lack of capital, then think again. Don’t try to chase the money; instead follow the path you are passionate about, create and patent your own product or partner with a company that will give all the support you need in your business journey. Aspiring entrepreneurs always ask if they should be expert before starting their own business. Not necessarily, Cynthia Kersey quotes that “Fact is enemy of the truth”. The fact is that economy is down but it shouldn’t determine the truth for your business. The most important toll you need to start your own business is to have a burning desire to achieve sucess at all cost. There are only two ways out; 1 - to win 2 - to quit. There are plenty of ways to launch your business without spending a bundle and, surprisingly enough, the shaky economy has actually created benefits for new business owners that wouldn’t normally be available. So in the beginning, instead of spending your money in debt (expensive clothes and accessories, nice, car, nice boats, long trips and lots of parties) invest in yourself, your passion, and your dreams. Forget about the couch and think about the books, books, books. Make sure you are surrounded by people with the same monetary interest as yours. You wont get too far if your friends are thinking about parties most of the time. Your path will be short if the types of conversation you have with your friends are only about other people’s life or reality show, beauty magazines or what Paris Hilton did to her dog. People could get entertained by those kinds of conversations but they won’t feel changed. If you want to be successful, you will have to help people change their lives for the better. Then…only then after you give you can receive. In other words, first you need to help people get what they want and then you will get everything you want. Keep that in mind….
