My family has a cat who is 8 years.

She has never had a problem with using the litter box but recently she has been pooping on the floor. It’s only an every now-and-then problem. She poops and pees in the litter box just fine but every 2 days we’ll find some poop somewhere in the house. It could be the switch to a covered litter box or it could be her being depressed and acting out over the death of our 18 year old cat last week. Help!!
