The Bible..Read it..you know you want to.

my post that is..

listen to me.. the bible has become dangerous to read BY YOUR SELF. it is DANGEROUS.

if you read it,
1) Hear it as though for the first time. no matter how many times you have read the verse. and let it resonate with you
2) Read it ALOUD and to or with another person

and then, its power will not be surpassed

Err… yeah. You’re ruining the reputation of the church by posting messages such as these. Instant turnoff by joe average. Like the guy with the bullhorn.

That’s BS. Everyone will get to know him. Everyone, whether you say it or not. Read the book dude. If not in this life than at judgement day. Forcing it onto people is just going to be a turnoff. I’m not surprised modern society has a shady image of religion. You only burn in hell if you reject him. Spread it, but don’t force. You’re just making a fool of yourself for trying to do something which is much more effective in person on a public message board.

I doubt I’ll convince you though… Dogma is the worst enemy within the church.

the Bible was only ever ment to be temporary. it has served its purpose which is to prepare one for the 2nd coming. now that we are being awakened to the spirit of Christ anyone not sincere enough will ignore and burn with the Bible itself.

i tell you, do not read it by yourself because it is equivocal

“shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased”

direct quote without even searching

The bible is just a bunch of chapters written by people tripping on Opium and drinking there own urine while walking through the desert. Its flawed because man is flawed its also meant to control the week minded to fear god and his wrath. Hope this helps :-)

If that’s what you believe, fine. I don’t think so and I’m not going to open a can of worms by arguing. I’m just saying that I cannot stand people who like to think that they are better than others because they believe in something that others do not - or try to forcibly change people into something that they aren’t ready for.

Then why are you advocating to people to read the bible? You’re contradicting yourself and your own philosophy. Maybe give some more attention to your own beliefs and make them congruent with what’s actually in the book. Become someone mirroring the bible. It’s much more convincing than trying to spread the word on a forum.

No. I don’t want to. I’m much more eager for the twelfth book of the Wheel of Time series. I hope the author writing for the deceased Robert Jordan is able to emulate Jordan’s style well.

I encourage you and others to read the Bible and study it by yourself. If you want to read it out loud and/or to another person, that’s good too. But it is very important to read and study the Bible privately, otherwise there is the danger of just ‘enjoying’ it for the sake of its dramatic force or impact. Your words, FreshandYoung, show that you are interested in an emotional experience, a sort of surfing on the top of something, rather than a deep exploration of the Word of GOD which is timeless and equally relevant and necessary for today as ever. The Word of GOD is a spiritual book that, by the work of the Spirit of the LORD will transform the believer into the image of the glory of the LORD (2 Cor 3:18), which is tremendously awesome and is as absolutely desirable today as it has ever been!

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

Beware these false new agey doctrines of devils that attack the validity of the Word for today or want to treat it lightly as something to excite you but not to be taken seriously, as a means of healing the saved believer of his desperate sin-sickness and bringing us to the place where we experience daily victory in Christ, trampling the devil underfoot in our ongoing spiritual progression, by His Grace, in Christ’s victorious Triumph!

“But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”
Eph 4:7-8
