PLEASE HELP, Could the Cyst on my Spleen be causing sharp pains in my heart and left arm?

I’m 17, and have been very sick the past twom months. At first they thought it was leukemia due to a blood test, then lyme and lupus were considered. They know it’s not lyme or leukemia now and do not believe it it lupus either. THey’ve concluded it is probably just a very bad virus. The past couple weeks I’ve had breathing difficulty and sharp pain in my spleen area. Turns out I have a large cyst on my spleen that was pushing on my diaphragm. SO, my question is now, can the spleen cyst explain the sharp pain I’m getting in what seems to be my heart?? Also, the pain is in my forearm and my hands get weak and tingly…
I hate to call my doctor again when we’ve finally felt like we had this mystery figured out.

If you could help i’d greatly appreiate it!

I had pain similar to what you described in my chest. it was gallbladder!

ahh, but i’m 17 a heart attack sounds so bizzare! thanks for your reply though! oh and, the pain has been going on in my heart area for a few days…aren’t heart attacks something that come suddenly?

I have to admit, as a bio person, that heart attack occured to me too, even before gall bladder, but I forgot to say. too much was happening in my house while writing this. 18 yr old in my school had one. I would ask the doc. Some are sudden, and I believe that some progress over a period of up to 5 days.

hmmm…okay thanks. even if they do “progress”, is there an explanation for the pain being worst at the top of my breath?

Hey Im 21 and I have the same symptoms as you. I also thought it was symptoms of a heart attack and sometimes when i inhale i get a sharp pain in my left lung but a couple a days the pain spread and thought it was my gall bladder but went for the scans and found out I have a cyst on my spleen and nothing wrong with my gall bladder. For 2 years Ive been told they dont know whats wrong with me. Now that I know i have a cyst whats happening next?

No kidding!! Same thing happened with me! They found a 10cm cyst on my spleen in a CAT scan while looking for a problem in my lung. I haven’t had pain from it in a long time. Turns out most the time they just dissolve on there own :) How are you doing now?
