Don’t use them? They’re pretty viral applications.

If you want a good music downloading site, I recommend www.downloads.nl
it’s free and there are no viruses.

Also, if you do plan to continue using p2p apps, then get MalwareBytes
Its a super amazing anti-malware and spyware program.

Also vista is really bad at running things.
to solve the root of the problem I recommend getting XP. I don’t know much about vista or how to make it effective, I hope someone else can answer that.

I am having the same problem. It feels as if Microsoft has decidecd to run people’s computers against thier will. Windows Vista shuts down my computer every so often, for no apparent reason. When this happens, I loose whatever work I am doing.
I agree with missis3 try to go back to Windows XP if you can.

Getting a free version of XP is illegal and dangerous. Microsoft monitors any traffic on update sites and… Put it this way, I had a copy of Works that wasn’t legit and after updating I lost my hard drive!

Kazaa and Limewire both hog resources and pose security threats. Java can be a threat but mainly Microsoft does not appreciate the competition. You should be able to load Java if you go to internet options and lower internet zone settings to Medium. You may have to be logged on as administrator to do so. If you are only user of computer, you probably are.
