windows xp laptop

i think it may have got a virus and now it just wont switch on. it loads the ‘packard bell’ grey screen then just goes black. i have tried pressing F11 but it just beeps and nothing happens… i really need it to work ASAP.

please please please help me??????

When you restart the computer start pushing f8 over and over agian until a screen that has options, last good known configuration highlight that and press enter if that option is not avail. start in safe mode.

i was just on msn and my laptop jammed for ages so i just switched it off by the button instead of doing it properly as the mouse wouldn’t move.

well it turns out the harddrive just broke so a new one was fitted
i have it back now :)
