Beauty help: I bought a house last year and want to landscape my yard. - Help.com

I bought a house last year and want to landscape my yard.

However, the value of my home has fallen and I’m not sure if it’s a wise decision. My partner and I will be doing it ourselves rather than contracting it out. Also, if we do decide to do it any suggestion on making it beautiful? I know that relative but maybe someone has some pointers. Thanks

I don’t know about how to make it beautiful or whatever; I guess that depends on your taste and budget and size.

I would say don’t worry too much about the house value. So many people have got into the habit of treating houses like cards with values on them. It is your home. I take it you’re planning to make it your home for a long while. If you have the money to spend on it, then go for it. Make it even more enjoyable for you both to live in.

You’ll enjoy the excitement of planning it and of building it and for many years after you’ve finished.

putting up a a href=”http://www.foreverredwood.com/pergola.html”>garden pergola /a> would make it more beautiful or a gazebo, you can simply build a simple one with woods, but choose those that does not rot easily, then you can have vine plants as the roof, surround it with some flowering trees or put an outdoor dining set under the pergola or a swing for a place to relax..
