If there is something in your mind that you can’t stop thinking of and can’t go to sleep because of it then your going to have a long night as this does make it difficult. Try to clear your mind and think of something that you look forward to.

I don’t look foreword to anything. That sounds horribly emo…but I’m not happy. With anything. I don’t know what to do…I just feel like I’m on autopilot. Any time I feel happy it’s short lived, and never as good as it used to be. Nothing feels right anymore.

I agree with Fusion ZX. Make it necessary for yourself to get up in the morning. Job, school, join the YMCA or club and get involved in things. People feed off each others energy and it’ll make you feel better.

yea I understand, you may need meds to jumpstart you so you could feel motivated to be a part of society again

Maybe you’re just like me. You can be happy but you just tend to think about bad things. You can’t help it. The trick is too push yourself if you don’t want meds. I’ve been pushing myself to make friends and all that junk for years and its working in time. Push yourself!

Okay…thanks everyone. I guess I’ve just been feeling so lonely. My only friend is my boyfriend of three years, I feel so isolated. I guess I just need to try and be around other people more or something.

I think you just mentioned the topic that’s keeping you up; as good as you use to be.
What did that use to be?

You’re more experienced now and maybe a little confused. You’re brain is trying to solve a riddle of what to do. It’ll come after a good rest. Maybe a few days of hard exercising. It will help clear your mind and blood so you can tackle the issue from a different angle:)

I hear you. Stupid sucks sometimes and it’s hard to fix stupid…lol. We all do stupid, but you’re 14! That’s how you learn. Boys are worst, you may even say “stupider”…lol. The only family thing you should be concern with is you being 14!
I don’t know you culture, but 14 years olds here are only concerned with music, fun(clothes) and their hair..lol. All thats is required of them is to keep up their educations and wash….lol. If you have a safe environment, then somebody there can comfort you with your nightmares maybe:) Stress will cause them or lack of security:)

My parents both live in diff states than I do…I live with my uncle and step grandfather…my uncle is always drugged up and my step grandfather only speaks Korean and I only speak English…so not much comfort…and the whole being concerned about being only 14 is impossible because I have to play the mommy part of my uncles 9yr old and 11yr old….

How much exercise do you get during the day? Going running or cycling is a really good way to de-stress, I find.

maybe it would be an idea to see a councillor or someone, so you can talk to them and let go some of your stress.

Keeping a journal can help as well - writing down your thoughts on a regular basis forces you to put them in some kind of order, and can really help you make sense of things.

I guess it depends how your mind works - I find lyrics/poetry are too abstract, and usually just make me feel worse. I find writing everything down literally really helps me when I’m feeling depressed.

If you could find a community program that supplied a little break for you that would be great. I like to see you being 14 and enjoying yourself:)
