During my university studies in anthropology, we went to Kenya and did some field work for a prof. with the Maasai. We were there with them for two weeks only but it was the best experience of my life. Very interesting, especially the warriors who jump so high. The prof. filmed them and we brought the movie back and now they still show this in respected universities. :-)

Cool… I’m gonna be near Lake Victoria so hopefully will get to visit some Maasai & Luo tribes… Did you feel safe whilst in Kenya?

Yes, because it was planned by the university and they know our coming. We were not as tourists. We lived with them, ate with them, etc. The women made us beautiful bead necklaces and they taught us how to do that. Unfortunately we couldn’t go see the wildlife which is one of a kind on earth, especially if you go on a hot air balloon ride to see them from above. I want to go back one day, once you were there, you want to return. You have this distinct feeling of coming home somehow…. Before you go though, you have to get shots against all kinds of diseases.
