you can write something on love. That would be the simplest thing to do.
Rain, beauty, school, love, addictions, friends, death, life, birth, babies, smiles, fall, spring, summer, winter, lakes, family, favorite things………
write a sonnet about trying to be original for an assignment but failing to do so.
as far as construction: Elizabeth or Petrarch?
Or write how difficult it is to write a sonnet that is not just 14 lines of bubbling about something but it is a song too. Write a sonnet on how you asked people here to give you advice and at the end you decided to write about it in sonnet form.

thats what i was thinking but it turns out everyone did that :P
um Elizabeth i guess i dont know what Petrarch is. its just the 3 quatrains and a couplet, in iambic pentameter :P
Elizabethan then. try reading some Shakespere and getting some inspiration from the bard: also, one on the internet would be good. just remember, there is an ironic turn between the 3 quatrains and the couplet in a good sonnet.

yea, if i end up writing about not having any ideas then i’ve already got my couplet, but i wanted to be more original lol

That’s not a sonnet. It has to be 14 lines and each line has to have ten syllables. There are different rhyming patterns depending upon which type of sonnet you choose… better study some more.

Inspiration
I’m sitting here and don’t know what to do
There’s no ideas coming to my head.
I really am trying so hard it’s true,
But all that I can think is “Ugh, I’m dead.”
I wish I could be more original
But the truth is that I am simply not.
My creativity is marginal
I’ll probably sit here until I rot.
If I can’t think of something very fast
I know that I will be all out of time
Procrastination simply didn’t last
And left me in a state less than sublime.
Yet through the fog in all my desperation
I there suddenly find my inspiration.
i got a 95 on it lol :D
That’s my kind of sonnett…. beats the hell out of Shakespeare!
