We’re all doomed.
I am considering becoming religious in the hope to be saved but is this just a pipe dream and to bury my head in the sand to avoid the hatred and anger in this world which I so detest. I have diabetes and half my family have died or have contracted cancer. I’ve always hated war but it seems the war is having a more devastating effect on the world than we thought. Large amounts of DU have spread through the globe and that is what has caused the many diseases in the world today. I actually feel suicidal but I can’t imagine my parents burying me so I sit and suffer screaming inside. Should I pray and find God or just die?! What do you think of war and why aren’t we doing enough to stop it? Am I just a whisper that can’t be heard? I think we’re doomed!

Are you seriously asking this question? How is your belief going to affect whatever happens to you after you die?
ayurvedic meicine is the key to your healing check it out since your in cali there are many clinics they have cures for you
Helpbot thanks - although I’m not going to kill myself or self harm, I just feel awful today and professionals don’t help me.
Vilén - you have a very valid point. I just hate the world right now and the war and destruction and I often wonder why we were put here, is it just to get power, become greedy and destroy others lives through war. I’m not healthy and yet I never wished this upon myself - ok I could have worse things but diabetes sucks I hate it and recently I have often wished for some sort of spiritual guidance recently don’t ask me why?
keepthisinmin - I have insulin dependant diabetes, incurable if I were diet only ayurvedic medicine would be superb, and I have tried the massage and eating that way, but although it has proved relaxing, my diabetes has never improved, only worsened and I can’t do all the things I dreamed like firefighting or scuba diving because of the complications in the past. Thanks for your advice though it is appreciated.
I just think we created who we are today, but there is no control. How would we be able to control war or get rid of depleted uranium (DU) which has caused many diseases and was born through the atomic bomb. I just feel really down yet I’m pretending to the world I’m fine, hence why I won’t show my identity.
“I shot the shot-BANG!- that you hear around the world” a christian rock band wrote that verse. the right faith will empower you to be more than just a whisper! you should definatly embrace the chrstian faith, it will provide encouragement and support
glamourboy… thanks don’t hate me but I’ve looked into many religions and I was born and brought up christian, read the bible and rejected it. I became athiest for a while and kind of am right now but I do believe in spirits. I often have psychic dreams and preminitions but have put it down to co-incidence. I just don’t know… although I could embrace a religion again, I just wish we could all fix things right now. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, why would the spirit have to come back to this world to face death and destruction again, it just seems pointless, also if there was a God, and everything’s perfect, how come this world isn’t perfect right now? Sorry if that offended and I probably know little but that’s just the way I feel right now. I am really depressed and am trying to see a future but am in darkness :-c
I’m going to bed now then I’ll spend tomorrow wishing my day away in the office and get drunk at the weekend before dreading monday and try to block out these thoughts in my head.
Thanks for the posts.
Umm, you do know that just because a few people in your family had a bad illness dosen’t mean that your going to get it right? Just know that you have to just not worry about it and it will go a separate way. If you want to believe in anything then just believe that you won’t get it.
And oh yes, the world isn’t perfect because there would be nothing if we all had everything in the beginning, how would you learn anything if you came into a perfect world, and besides everyone is different and has a different way of viewing the world, we don’t see it the same way as others and we cannot have a perfect world, one person’s good is another’s bad don’t forget that.
Hi Neutra, no I am just angry because we are surrounded by disease and upset and hurt and I’ve been angry about it since I don’t know when. I am thinking counselling might be the immediate solution actually and / or a spiritualist church. I have diabetes which I detest, I had to have a mole removed two years ago due to it changing shape and being itchy. Since the removal it is still itchy, but part of me doesn’t care anymore and feels it might be peaceful to die. I’m 30 years old and have started feeding pigeons (yes you can laugh) and taken up lots of holistic type therapies which calm me. I don’t know I guess these thoughts just haunt me. I know the world isn’t perfect but it just seems the media presents us with bad news every day and it would be good to have some nice news, or something like that. I once dreamt of marriage and children but then the ex fiance beat me up and I left because I was worried if I had children they would be psychologically damaged. Now I have probably missed the boat but I think marriage is another dream that doesn’t often work out these days in the western world. It is a fantasy but in reality most people don’t work out (or at least that I’ve known anyhow).
I guess mostly I’m craving peace and good health but at the same time wishing ot get my anger out in a healthy kind of way.
Without sounding harsh, I don’t think a lot of us have learnt things anyway. We still have wars like hundreds of years ago, we still fight and bicker, we are still aggressive and unable to communicate. We still harm others and have our seven sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride. What exactly have we learnt… I feel we haven’t learnt anything. There are a minority probably like yourself and others, who care for the world and make an effort to eat organic, donate to charity, give advice to others to aid them etc. etc. but I see no balance, I see more bad than good, is that my attitude?
No, it’s just different views. It’s like I said, people just have different opinions about things, it’s not just good and bad view but more like different good view and many bad views, they are similar but don’t mix well. With a combination of that and people’s different living styles(like how some people live better then others). All these little factors, they don’t seem like much but alot of it and it adds up. With so many different ways, some people can’t seem to find an agreement and these type of situations occur, it’s not that anyone’s doing something wrong it’s just that it’s the way the world is.
Hi Neutra, there seems to be a lot of disagreements these days and it affects me a lot more than it probably should. I detest war and fighting, whereas my mum used to say her and dad fighting was a normal part of life, I always held my hands to my ears. Also what does war achieve? Nothing but death, pain and hurt for those left behind. Plus the chemicals spread out into the atmosphere which is what makes us ill. Why are there so many greedy people, pharmaceutical companies who would rather keep us ill and the knowlege on how to get better hidden from us, politicians who profit from war and don’t have a conscience about what pain they have caused. I guess I can’t be like most, I notice it all too much and it causes me pain. There is more bad in the world now than good, I rarely see good to be honest, just a dog eat dog kinda world really - sorry if that’s negative but that’s just how I feel.
Personally, I as well would rather avoid uneccissary conflict unless it’s the only way. Pretyy much war shows that one side is stronger then the other but dosen’t really solve arguements, infact it may actually cause more problems then solutions. Honestly I wish I could awnser the question of why there are so many greedy people in the world. I know that we have to take care of ourselves but it also shows humanity to lend a hand toward other people in need. It made me sad when I saw a program last week on abc that showed when people were in trouble and so many people just passed by without giving the time of day to the person in trouble. I guess it’s because either people don’t want to get involved in something that dosen’t concern them, as they only pay attention when it involves them. I know that we shouldn’t get into other people’s business but it’s also wrong to let someone suffer when you have the power to help them.
But you know, somewhere out there, there are plenty of people with good hearts that won’t hesitate to help someone and solve situations without causing more tention. As for politics, I don’t even mess with that, I have never really cared much for politics, just too crucked for my taste. Although there may be more bad then good, it dosen’t mean that we have to live our lives just as bad as the other people. We should all just try to make the right choices in life as best as we can. Even though there isn’t as much light as there is dark, the light can never go out and bad will never have the complete advantage. It may take longer for the good people to see anything good in the end but I know that if they stay positive and don’t worry about the bad and live their lives as good as they can then in the end they will get twice of what they work for and no amount of bad can stop it, may slow it down but can’t stop it.
Thanks Neutra, that’s made me feel a lot better :-) I’ve actually just started reading a book which I purchased a while ago and I’m finding really interesting. It’s a dialogue by the Dalai Lama but in the meeting, elite members such as philosophers and scientists amongst others were there and the book is called ‘Negative emotions and how we can overcome them’ which provides a scientific view and a spiritual view on anger, rage, hatred and irrational fear and all these emotions that are considered harmful. Lot’s of questions evoke in it such as where does anger and rage stem from? Is it part of our evolution? is it necessary? and obviously there are views from all perspectives on how we could overcome these to create a better world for ourselves and others. I think it has hit the spot and your emails have helped too :-)
It’s written by Daniel Goleman incase anyone is interested in reading it and actually called ‘Destructive emotions and how we can overcome them’. It helps us think ‘outside the box’ and provides a valuable insight into how we can overcome negativity and unite together. Although I’m only in the early stages of reading it, it has proved helpful and interesting so far and I am pretty hooked on it at the moment.
