It depends. Do you mean does anyone care about YOU or does anyone care about helping people or what? I find people are more often passionate about helping causes and categories or groups of people - example: Darfur. Euthanasia. Poor People. Cancer Patients. and so on.
I find people are less inclinded to care about a single (single as in singular, not as in your maritial status) individual until they have proved thier usefulness.
So yes. People care. If you are useful to them… sounds superficial but I think its just a fact of life. How can someone come to care if they dont respect and or admire you in some fashion? And how can that come to be if you dont do anything for them?

I disagree many people are willing to help strangers even if they may not be of any “use” to them or may not do anything for them.
For example many people came up and said hello to me coz they knew the people sitting besides me even though they dont know me and top of that im a freak but they still shook my hand, i had nothing to offer them. A small little thing like that made me feel happier. All people on this earth are not bad.

Anyway, this is all moot because he was talking about Obama restructuring the face of America. And some people care, other people are just impressed by his uplifting speeches.

for me they’re downright depressing because i see right through his BS rhetoric. the people who swoon at this man’s speeches are the very same people who expect the government to hand them everything.

first and foremost i am american. i love this country and believe the founding fathers knew what they were doing. they believed in individuals having the right to control their own destiny. in the right to pursue happiness with the LEAST amount of government interference. in the right to worship God in the way they choose, or to not worship if thats their choice. but NOT to have government meddle in every little thing in our lives. TAX us and using those taxes improperly.

If you want to be pissed off, be pissed off at how the sub-prime mortgage debacle ruined the world economy and cost me 1/3 of my retirement savings and millions of jobs.
I wish my loss was only 1/3. as far as getting pissed off… not much point in getting pissed at a statistic like the “mortgage debacle”. Lets direct our outrage at the politicians that caused it. the liberal scum like barny frank, chris dodd and to some extent the greed on wall street.
