army help: I’m 21 years old and a full-time student. - Help.com

I’m 21 years old and a full-time student.

To pay for school I have an Army ROTC scholarship. I do not like school at all, and my major(Psychology) is useless since I am not going to grad school. Since I was a little girl I have loved doing other people’s hair and make-up. I want to stop wasting my time in college and go to beauty school. If I had the money to pay the Army back I would just leave school, but I can’t afford to do it. Since I am an out-of-state student the Army has been paying about $10,000 a semester for 5 semesters now.
My boyfriend and I are very much in love and planning on getting married. He hates seeing me so unhappy, and recently suggested we have a baby so that I could get a medical discharge and leave the Army with no responsibility to them. It seems so drastic and I am hoping I have another option. I can’t wait to have children with him, however, I would like to wait until we a more secure foundation to have a child.
I am at a loss as to what to do. I am so unhappy however, I feel like I have to stick with this commitment.
Does anyone have any advice for me?

Err… I wouldn’t reccommend faking pregnancy. Especially to a doctor :S
And I definately wouldn’t recommend using an actual baby as your release from this. There must be soemthing you can do; how would you have originally paid back the $50,000 to the army?

$50,000 is a massiv eamount of money. There is no way they can expect you to be able to pay that off straight away. The army aren’t that dumb. There must be a way of sorting this out. I’m sorry but I don’t know enough about this problem to know how to solve it :(

I guess you should take to them.

is it so bad that you can’t finish your bachelor’s? i mean it seems like you’ve gotten pretty far into the degree. maybe just push through and get a bachelor’s and then after that you can go to beauty school. :/ not sure what else to suggest for you.
