Sorry, but I would like some Algebra help, please..?

I suck at math, and I’m highly unsure as to the correct way to do these problems. It tells me to solve the systems Algebraically and gives me a pair of equations such as Y= 7x. X^2+y=0. Okay, I -think- that I need to find the zeroes or x-intercepts, which are the solutions. As far as my incompetent brain goes, I can only think to substitute the Y{7x} into the quadratic equation. Wait..I’m not highly unsure. I just don’t know..I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do…So I would like a little insight on this to set me on the right track of doing these problems. Thank you for reading! I’d really appreciate help if you can.

x^2+y=0
x^2+7x=0
-2 -2
x+7x=-2
8x=-2
/8 /8
x=-4

The above reply is wrong. you can’t just subtract x-squared minus 2 to get x. You had the concept right in your post. you just need to do it.
Here:

x^2+7x=0
x(x+7)=0
if x=0
then 0(0+7)=0
if x=-7
then -7(-7+7)=0
x=0,-7

There are two solutions to a quadratic equation
