Need your thoughts…

I am in a panel discussion on how to change the image of African Americans. My topic is community. I want you guy’s thoughts on how African American’s can better our selves in communities so the perception of us can start to move away from where it is today, negative to say the least

I am not racist. i want to make that perfectly clear from the get go, but young Af-Amer’s hanging out outside of building at night looks like they up to no good and like they are going to cause trouble.. Having pants that are oo bog and baggy makes them look like gangsters.

Suggestions:
stay inside after dark, pull up your pants or get some that fit, keep yourself looking tidy, don’t wear a lot of chains, stop saying axe and say ask, (axes cut wood) stay away from drugs, alcohol, knives, guns and people with bad reputations. Get good grades, keep your hair shorter, don’t get tattoos, shave as needed.

My suggestion for everyone else: read above, bc it’s the same.

P.S. I love seeing kids play sports, dancing, being in plays, and playing music. I think every kid should do these things.
