Curious, coping mechanisms

I’m just curious, what kind of coping mechanisms does everyone use?

i have been trying to actually get myself to feel things, to just do what you’re supposed to do and yank whats festering in the “depths of your subconscious” and bring it to the surface, so to speak.

by doing this you realize how transitory things in life actually are. even thgou i still have a lot to deal with, i am beginning to see that this tactic is much more beneficial than some stupid tactic. i don’t feel so numb anymore.

My most used coping mechanic is prayer.

I also try to identify the issues and be prepared for them ahead of time and/or avoid negative situations when I can.

I also like taking walks.

Sometimes if I don’t know what to do… I just ask myself what would I do if I knew what to do?

If I am really stumped and do not know what to do and time and the situation allows I will take a short nap, hoping for answers and a fresh perspective when I wake up.

I evaluate my perceptions, and then re-evaluate at times.
Talk to a friend for advice or just their “take” on “it”.
Sometimes just talk period.
Draw on past experiences of my self and others.

Hmmmm…. and once in a great while I post on help.com.

Of course it all depends with what you are trying to cope.

Shakey
