I inherited from a relative an old country manor -
a really creepy place that was never properly kept up and its in the middle of nowhere near a small village I’d never heard of before. At night and during the early morning hours the whole area is covered in a thick fog and the wind really howls. Recently someone told me the place used to be an abbey but something happened there and the place ended up deserted for years before someone converted it into a residence.
Anyway, my problem is this. Every few nights I hear this scratching sound at the window, or in the hallway outside my room. I’ve checked but I never find anything and theres no trees growing near the window or anything like that. Then this morning I found this musty old grey cloth lying the hall. I freaked out cause I thought someone had broken in - a burglar or something - but all the doors and windows were shut except.. the door to the cellar was open and I’m sure I shut it yesterday. Of course the cellar used to be the crypt of the abbey back in the old days.
What should I do?
