I’m trying to write a poem for my poetry class and I am having the hardest time to write one of the lines.

I can’t think of a decent word that rhymes with ‘forgotten’. The only words that are coming to my mind are definite rhyming words like cotton and rotten. Ha. Can anyone think of any other words, even if they don’t rhyme exactly. They can be slant rhyme. I just can’t think of any at all! Help! :)

what’s the rest of the poem (you don’t have to share it, if you don’t want) it would make it more eaiser, but so far here’s this:
“…” in
moshen’ XD
anything that ends with “en’” I guess…good luck

It’s a parody of shakespeare’s sonnet 18. i know it’s not funny but i just didn’t feel like making it funny here it is.

Shall I compare thee to a winter’s frost?
Thou art more cold and less forgiving
Frozen winds chill my soul with feelings lost
And December’s days were much more willing
Sometimes too much I think of your eyes, blue
And often in the moonlight of the mountain
My stomach churns just remembering you
By chance, and nature’s changing courses, amounting
To the eternal thoughts that will be ultimately forgotten
And the scent of the smoke that somehow still lingers
?

I can’t finish it because I don’t know a word to do the rhyme with forgotten so I can’t think of how to start the line because I don’t know how to end it. And in turn, I haven’t finished the poem because of that.
Does that make sense?

with that you may want to consider useing a similie with cotten. That would be my thought, but make a few lines then pick you favorite.

Oh that might actually really work. I’m writing this about personal experience from a recent breakup so I could throw that into it because my sweatshirt still smells like his cigarette smoke…

How does this sound

And the scent of the smoke that somehow still lingers
In my favorite sweatshirt, embedded into the cotton
