I got laid off and picked up another job at a lower pay, I lost my mortgage/house and ended up with overdue medical bills.

I am desperately trying to pay the bills/rent/groceries and am losing the battle at the moment. I can’t even afford my wife’s medications, and my truck just got repossessed last night. I’m at wits end. How can I find help?

I am sorry to hear of your woes. I do have some of the same issues: laid off, high unemployment in my area (12%), bill collectors calling, illness with my kids, divorce, constant searching for any, ANY job!

I am searching for help too. I would suggest reaching out to a local church (churches). Many have resources and food banks, maybe they know of some way to help your wife get her meds. Ask her doctor if he has any samples he can spare (a few of mine have hooked me up with samples). Look in the paper for local events or networking events. I am amazed the number of people that reach out to me once I ask.

It is hard to stand up and stay your problems in a group…I know, I do it. Just reach out. Try www.herocare.org The web page states it is for military and police, but they are helping everyday folks too.

Remember: You are not your job, you are not your bank account, you are not the money in your wallet. You are a good person facing difficult situations in an enivornment you can’t controll.

Keep the faith! We all have to! If anybody that is reading this that isn’t plague with current economic problems please reach out. There are millions and millions of us that are really good, honest, moral people stuck in a situation we can’t control.

Please love one another!
