night help: I noticed something weird today. - Help.com

I noticed something weird today.

From the time I wake up in the morning to the time the sun goes down, I tend to feel pretty tired and relatively unsocial (not that I don’t talk, but compared to what I’m about to mention). However, as soon as it starts to get dark outside and throughout most of the night, I’m much more talkative and outgoing than during the day.

Plus, when I’m writing a story/essay/etc., I tend to be much more creative and can work with much more difficult, eloquent, or philosophical (for lack of a better word) concepts.

This is just a weird phenomenon I’ve noticed recently and thought I’d post up somewhere to see if anyone has any insight into this.

Does anyone know a reason for this, or am I just a bit weird in being more active and thoughtful at night?

That happens to me too. I’m just more of a night person i think.

I’m pretty sure this is normal. Being more outgoing during the night could be explained by subconsciously feeling more confident because the dark hides flaws better, but who knows, I don’t know if you’re that kind of person. As to the writing, it is much much easier to be creative when you have lots of time to think about your words and look at them on a page. People rarely talk exactly how they write, since writing is usually more formal.

Hm, I suppose that makes sense. I’ve never really seen myself as very self-conscious but maybe I’m just not noticing when I am.

…or maybe I’ve got the night person thing going, too. Not entirely sure what that means but it makes me sound better than “self-conscious at day person” (even if the latter is more accurate). ;)

Anyways, thanks for the helping me with my random curiosity. Adios!
