“whipping” children right or wrong

ok so I live in louisana an many people i know “whip” there kids ime not talking spank but take a belt yes

do you think thats right or wrong

thats how the south is its not child abuse down here

i know a parent who have a 16 year old daughter an still “whip” her as punisment

idk i think its wrong no matter the age or the sex so what do you think

(i would never do that to any of my kids)

its wrong, and im 15 and wen my parents occasionally hit me, it just makes me want to rebel against them more. it doesnt help and things just get worse because im not about to listen to someone who is beating the crap out of me. its b.s. and wrong. its stupid and it doesnt work. children will rebel more.

i think it is wrong for this simple reason: it doesn’t work. yes it is cruel and yes it is illegal, but if it doesn’t work, why even consider it? kids don’t become well behaved little angels after a whipping. there are many more effective parenting strategies.
