What does “This account has been deactivated” mean?

I see it all the time. Too much for it to just be people who turn off their account. Does it mean they’ve been banned?

Hello ryanma,
The phrase “This account has been deactivated” means that the e-mail that they gave was not verified by clicking the e-mail, and so all unverified users are deactived after about a week.
