possibly great idea, please advise

ok, everybody knows the biggest problem with wireless commincations is nothing is standardized. with all the different rf bands out there for sending and recieving data ie: cellular, wifi, bluetooth ect. and every version has its downfalls. for instance, bluetooth has great device to device transfers, but has little transmission distance and little bandwith. wifi is has lots of bandwith but dosent have much transmission distance or very compatible ad hoc support…… why don’t they come out with one wireless standard that operates on the 2.4 Ghz band like wifi that has full compatibilty for every device that uses it, it should be able to transmit long distances like cellular, be able to operate in infrasture mode like wifi, have lots of bandwith, and be able to easily communicate from device to device without using a router

Its not a matter of if its more when will they mass release it but i assume they would charge a fee unfortunately. I think they are mostly using it on phones and netbooks right now. if you do a little search online im sure you can find the other technologies that are being produced. I dont know much about it though and i am busy otherwise i might look into it.

Cool, if they did that my laptop and cellphone could hack into your network. And I wouldnt have to pay for service ever again. Why do you think that is not in use?
