I am having some serious AOL problems…
So, for a long time, my father and I were both AOL users, but within the past few years, we’ve both switched to Firefox and gmail, which work much better. But when I got an iTunes account, I figured that it would be easier to use my old AOL account than to create a new apple ID. By this point, I had forgotten my AOL password, but my dad was able to change it because he was the administrator. So, I had an iTunes account, I bought a lot of songs and music videos, I put gift cards on there, and it worked very well for a long time. However, recently, my computer had some major issues and I had to get a new one. Thankfully, I had all of my files backed up, so most of my songs, including iTunes songs, I can still listen to. But when I tried to watch one of my music videos, it asked me to log in. Okay, fine. But I’ve forgotten my password again. (I know, I know, I’m forgetful. I’m sorry!) I went to the AOL website to try to reset my password, and it asked me what school I went to and what my name was. So I typed those in. (I’m not THAT forgetful :P)And guess what? They were WRONG. I then realised that my school name has two names and then the word “school”, which means that I could have referred to it by one of the names, both of them, the two names and “school”, or the abbreviation of my school’s name. Furthermore, I have a hyphenated last name and sometimes like to put my middle name or initial after my first name, AND I have an alias name that I sometimes use for internet accounts, so my first name and last name could each be written four different ways. And after I tried only two or three combinations, it told me my account was blocked for twenty-four hours. When I tried contacting tech support, the automatic phone told me that they were overstretched and I would have to ask for help in a live chat on line. Guess what? You chat with your AOL account. Which I still can’t get in to. So, I made a free account for the sole purpose of asking a chat person what I should do. And it told me that customer service wasn’t included in my plan, so I’d have to pay money to be able to use the account for the purpose it was created for, so that I could get to my other account and not lose MORE money in the songs that I refused to buy a second time. I thought I’d write them an email, but even THAT seems to be too lowly for my free account! Will someone PLEASE help me out?
