I’m feeling troubled/suicidal

Short and sweet, I feel that life should be better if there is a point to it, and if there isn’t, why go on? If that needs clarification or you’d like to discuss life and help out, I’d be glad to explain more, and thank you all for comin.

hang in there like has ups and downs. purpose is hard to find sometimes, especially if you are young. For me, my motivation is God and my family. Now that might be different for you but one thing I do know is that you DO have a purpose but I think you just have to find it. your life can change in an instant for the better or for the worse. I say wake up and be thankful for the life you have. you only get one life, its nothing to be thrown away. take time to think about who you are, and what you want to do. try being optimistic; sometimes having a bright outlook changes everything.

I know it has ups and downs, and I know it’s what you make of it, but it just feels like we deserve a better shot at our one life than this. Why was the world made to happen like this?

Please dont do anything =(

You can always try and get what you need to be happy or if you cant get something personally give what others need and it will make you feel much better even if its small.

Life is like a box of chocolates, you can always just eat around the ones you dont like to get to the tasty goodness if you read the label on the box lol What I mean is if you just try and not think so bad of the world maybe you can see that the good outweighs the bad, maybe not in numbers but in strength of the feelings.

I ask myself that question everyday… along with why cant people learn how to drive, why are lines so long, why do clothes cost so much… see? Theres a question for everything… life is what you make it. Are you going to starve because you just cant stand waiting in a drive thru that will take 10 minutes? No.. you sit and wait and then get your food! Its a lot like life…

Honestly, suicide is the most selfish thing on Earth you can do. Taking your own life without consideration of how you’re making those close to you feel. In my opinion, since you’re only a freshman, life is all stretched in front of you to find the point of it, and there is no need to know now. Also. I’m sure you know who I am. And how would I feel without my hair being flipped all the time, once it grows back, calling me NGAY, and all the rest. TALK TO ME. I’LL HELP.

While I breathe I hope.

I believe hope is what you need, my friend.
I don’t know what is the cause of this suicidal feeling, but you can’t just throw life away when it gets bad.

That’s a good point, but the point of suicide is that it’s not like starving, it’s like eliminating the anger of waiting and the good taste. It just seems so much easier.

Bout time you came back, in whatever form. I kind of see it as a game, you know? You get wins and loses and you’re just concerned with passing the next go but eventually I think, “Why play this game, if it is the only one, and it is not perfect?” You can quit. It’s kind of selfish to keep people playing, from a perspective. I’d love to talk to you about it, you’re a good talkertoer.

That’s a wise set of words, but I don’t think hope is warranted at this point. It’s not going to get better from my view. Reason: I’m depressed because it seems like life should be perfect or better if it’s the only one that we have. At a human level and at a scientific level. It won’t change scientifically, and it won’t change on a human level in my lifetime.

I find it ironic that you can’t follow your own advice. How sad.
Suicide: “think of what it does to the rest… You stop living, and you go to nothingness while your friends suffer. I couldn’t do it.”

Perfect, perfect, perfect.
You seem like a neurotic perfectionist to me, you know what that may cause?
Depression, Social Phobia, Coronary Heart Disease, OCD, OCPD, and suicide.

Why is it not gonna get better? It’s not like you’re suffering from an incurable disease. Even some people with incurable disease don’t give up on hope, they know that death is near but they still keep holding on to their life. And you, you’re just letting depression bringing you down.

I might have depression, but none can argue that the world is full of flaws. I know it’s weak to give up, but I just feel like it shouldn’t be this way. I don’t know why it bothers me so much…I’m probably not a neurotic perfectionist, I’m just 15 is all. Thank you for taking such interest.

The reason it won’t get better is because that’s the way the world is. It’s not a personal problem, it’s a global one that I can’t get over recently. I feel like the only reason not to is the allegiances I’ve made with friends. I can’t let them suffer now, so I’m stuck playing a game I see too many problems with.

Yeah, the world is full of flaws, I agree with that totally. But what bout the good stuff? You know… accomplish something you’ve been working on for a long time, seeing other people happy, love, doing something you like to do?

And hey, if there’s a game you don’t like why don’t you just say that it’s game over and start a new one? Like how people say the new chapter in life. Life doesn’t have to be just one long boring and bad game, make it full of awesome games with a few bad ones.

I absolutely LOVE seeing people happy. I also love love. Hm… You’re right. I don’t think I was ever planning to commit suicide, I just had the thought that it would be easier. That doesn’t mean it’s worth it. I’m still deeply troubled by it though, and feel very depressed by it at time.

The easiest way is not always the best. It’s easier/faster to jump in the pond and swim to the other side, but an alligator might eat you… however it takes longer to walk around the pond but it’s safer…

That didn’t make much sense? But it gets the point across right?
Why are you so depressed by it? What’s so wrong about having a life that’s not perfect?

To have only one life…Why shouldn’t it be perfect? I don’t mean for humans, I mean for the Earth, or the universe maybe. If life will exist where there could be nothing, then why should it be flawed? It just doesn’t make sense to me, so it troubles me.

If it was perfect you wouldnt know it was good at all. Yin and Yang. Without bad there is no good to be known of or appreciated.

No point in worrying about what you cant control. You can control your own life though and influence the lives of those you come in contact with either directly or indirectly.

Would be nice if there was a IQ&Sympathy-raising-bomb so the whole world could have it dropped on it fixing whats wrong

Ah, better title, but still bad.

Humans, I’ve heard that we’re the only species that strive for perfection. Others, they just take enough stuff to survive. But WE want more. We should just be happy with what we’ve got.

Why ponder about the flaws if it’s only going to bring ya down? There’s no point to that.

“To sit in judgment of those things which you perceive to be wrong or imperfect is to be one more person who is part of judgment, evil or imperfection.”

“Perfectionism is a dangerous state of mind in an imperfect world”

“Perfection is immutable. But for things imperfect, change is the way to perfect them”

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it is better to absolutely ridiculus than absolutely boring”

Some quotes about perfection/imperfection from my long list of quotes.

I used to have a long list of quotes. Anyway, like I said, I know it should’t bother me, or at least I shouldn’t let it, but for some reason it does. Maybe it’s because of my friends who have been affected by it, I don’t know, but it’s killin me. I should probably see someone professional, because it seems like this would be a common problem, but there’s not an answer to it, I don’t think.
Again, thanks everyone.

Don’t feel sorry at all. As always, I’m honored to see your name here. Besides, you need the help right now. I used to be a happy guy, though I’ve always had a problem of thinking too much. I used to be suicidal, but for a different reason, but then I stopped because I realized that it was stupid. But this is new, it’s not a problem of mine, it’s a problem of the world. My friend and I last weekend, the 3rd of april, were sitting under the stars, and he starts talking about how gerat the world is. I’m argumentative to any philosophies I see, so I start thinking of the bad things. Not only that, I ask why we have the bad things. I can find no good answer. My friend shouldn’t be constantly having awful relationships, love shouldn’t be painful, nothing should be painful, life should be perfect. No, I don’t mean like the impossible perfect, I mean the whold universe, the nature of things, would be structured to make life so that it can be and is perfect. Instead of striving to know why this is or fighting it, we’re fighting ourselves. I swear, it seems like the only thing that is giving me doubts about killing myself is family and freinds’ reactions, and my dog; he doesn’t deserve that, if anyone. I just rely on my defense mechanism throughout the day, to just let all happiness and craziness break loose, but then I end up making someone say “stop”, and then it comes crashing down.

You shouldnt be all that depressed about it though. Its normal to feel bad but to just look at everything so pessimistically is a problem. The world has its good times and its bad times. It can go from horrible to great surprisingly fast at times though. Will never be perfect but perfect would be boring anyways.

Because they arent perfect so you have to accept it?

Ive already explained that if things were perfect you wouldnt even have known it. IT would be good if things suddenly turned great but even brief good moments that happen to everyone time to time can make you forget the bad at least for that time.

Getting depressed about it really isnt doing anything to change it but making you feel bad. If everyone acted that way then the world would be a much worse place to be in. If you want it perfect, try and make it perfect for yourself as good you can even if you cant, just trying helps make you feel better rather than sitting back moping about it. Accept what acomplishments you have made. If everyone did that then the world would be better.

It’s a big world. It’s hard to make it perfect, and since nature didn’t make it that way, it’s gonna take a lotta work. Killing yourself is not gonna make the world any better.
So you might as well try to stay alive, accept that it’s imperfect, it’s made that way for some strange reason and try to make the world a better place, even if it’s just a little better.

Love is when you can accept imperfections, so you gotta just love the world.

I think I have a bit of a solution. I have been here for only about a week but then i looked at my statistics and i have been in nearly 300 posts, meaning i helped nearly that many people and a few almost solely by myself. If i keep it up in about a year i could help the population of a town or city, if i go several years i could potentially help a small countries worth of people, go my whole life and maybe i could help the whole world one person at a time. Why dont you just try helping more people, and you will realize you have a lot more power to change things than you thought you did.

Have you seen the movie Pay it Forward? You should if you haven’t.

Maybe I managed to help you this time I hope ^_^

Not having to worry about it seems more alluring than making it a little better until the next generation is here.

How old are you Nemolibre? Won’t your parents be sad because of your death?
Normally I would tell people to think about it again, but it seems like thinking too much is your problem.
Stop trying to dig deeper into the weird ways of nature and embrace the imperfection. Enjoy good thing in life, find love, or if you already found it, then keep love. Enjoy having friends, making friends happy, seeing them smile, be there for them when they are feeling down. Enjoy your time with family, pets, anything.

Just forget about it and fake happy for now, it wont be fake because it will actually make you feel better eventually.

Go watch a comedy or something and go outside when its sunny or go for a late night walk (determining on the time)

If you start to think of every little bad detail about the world you will always find a giant list. then you become engulfed in disappointment and sadness over why humans, the smartest creatures to ever walk the earth, can’t settle differences peacefully, can’t be kind to each other(its pretty labored sometimes)etc, etc…

and then you can think about the exact opposite, organizations that work to feed the poor, organiztions that work to provide doctors in third world countries, people who make it their life’s work to make this world a better place whether its researching better ways to combat cancer or a safety feature that saves lives. Even in suffering, the world gives me hope in the way that people set out to heal that suffering as best as they can by helping each other out. Heck, look how many people here dont even know you but care enough about you to talk you out of your thoughts.

the bottom line is that life isnt perfect; this world isnt perfect, I’m sure you know that. There are more good people than bad, more people who set out to contribute than to take away.

Right now you are young. I am young myself, at age 20. Its funny thinking about how certain issues when I was younger were blown out of proportion by no one other than me. Its all a matter of perception, usually with time comes a better understanding of why life is the way it is. Do you think that what is bothering you will be an issue 10 or 20 years from now? There are people who face terminal illnesses, life changing accidents and never give up. Your problems will go away soon if you ride them out. Wait until you are older, and experience life. Life can be so beautiful. think about the first time you will fall in love (its a feeling that I’ve never felt before). I was somewhat pessimistic up until this year. I never had any real “game” but I nabbed myself a real keeper :) In an instant my life changed for the better. Think about the first time you will see your baby daugther. You still have so much to live for!No one knows what the future holds, all you can do is be optimistic. for example, maybe my gf isnt my soulmate does that mean that all purpose is gone from my life? nope, because I know that eventually there will be a better day. There will always be a better day. That is something that I have found to be true. It sounds cliche but life is a rollercoaster lol.
Something to start you off-
make a new friend, start a new activity, do something new!

In this life you need to be a fighter, not to be violent towards others, but to have the tenacity to tackle everyday, and every obstacle.
You only have one life, you are an individual, no one can ever replace you, you are special. I know that you have something postive to contribute to the world maybe not today at 15 but you have so much growing to do. Don’t let your light fade.

hundred of people can sit here and type all the reasons why you shouldn’t be so down but its ultimately your decision to have a change of heart. sometimes happiness isnt at your footsteps, you have to search for it. keep searching and be patient.
(sorry this is so long)
I hope it helps, Aleskar

I appreciate what y’all have done to try and help me, and I appreciate your tenacity and commitment to continue to do so, but I am closing this post so that people with problems that are more important or could be solved easier can get the amazing level of attention that I am getting. Thank you, I love you all.
