Well, it all depends on whether you want to run an official business. If you do, it would be very, very smart to carry insurance. At the very least you need to look for insurance that can cover injuries to people that ride your personally owned horses. Of course, if they are riding their own horses, you probably don’t need to worry so much.

I updated the tags associated with this question. You should see some links to companies that offer insurance to equestrian schools. They might be worth checking out.

Frist take a few lesson-and find a good horse that is well trained and teach the care of a horse too. Make up business cards and hand them out at schools.

Happy Trails

I would work on getting the kids comfortable with the horses and teach them about grooming first before you just put them on a horse. Maybe tell them about the parts of the horses body like the frog, and the withers and how to care for a horse and the responsibility. Hope this helps you out a lil bit. Word of mouth is the best advertisment. If you make them happy they will tell all their other friends about you and will want you to teach them.

Good luck to ya!!
Evelyn

As long as you don’t live in Florida, where the Supreme Court decided that waivers do not apply to children, and yes, the parents can sue you for everything you do or do not own or ever will own if their child is injured.

Im 16 and i too am going to start giving beginner riding lessons on my horse Dancer. Its a good idea to start off with grooming and while your grooming you can talk about parts of the horse, parts of the tack and safety. Make sure to teach them how to walk around/behind a horse and how to approach the horse. After grooming and safety i like to start my begginers out on a lunge line to do excersizes and teach propper position and steering. Once they have that down you can take them off the lunge line and have them try it for themselves. Hope this helps!

Hi! Without insurance, will you be violating the law and subject to appropriate punishment for commiting a crime? Just wondering,

LW
