Where were you?

Many years ago, in Massachusetts, I was in the Seminary, on my way to becoming a catholic priest. One day, walking in the countryside, on a brief vacation from the seminary, I came upon an old shack. Clearly abandoned. Or so I thought. Went inside, and I saw several men at work doing chemistry. Chemistry had been on of my talents prior to having received a calling to do spiritual work, so I asked what they were up to. They looked up and saw me. Called someone. Hit over the head with something from behind. Came to, and I was tied up. Asked who I was. Said I was a priest to be. Said give us a reason not to kill you and keep our operations secret. Told them of my chemistry experience.
Long story short, that’s how I’ve come to know I was put on this Earth to make Meth.
I haven’t determined my life yet or figured out my prospects. Life for me will always be a conundrum.
something i’ve always been interested in, something i know i will have to work hard for, somethign to aspire to, somethign that can take me places something that i will be proud of and will be proud to talk about it openly
i want to be a Surgeon
I want to have my own restaurant. And maybe, i want to be a chef. And i want to be a lawyer, a psychologist. And a mother. And an english teacher and an author.
See my dilemma? xD
haha darkscorpia I definately see it :) I also want to be a chef or have a restaurant one day! But I don’t want to do that as my main thing. I want something else. But don’t know what exactly! And it’s sooooo confusing!!!
Eat… I want to feel about my job the way you described but not a surgeon… life is so confusing!
I know what you mean.. Wait.. tell me all the subjects that you like. And things that interest you.
I wanted to be a multi-billionaire heir to the Wal-Mart fortune. Still working on that…

i want to be a Surgeon
and yes! I would never feel my life woule be compleat without having kids!
darkscorpia, that’s the thing! In school I took many subjects, all of which I did well at but there was nothing that truly inspired me. Nothing at all. Now I’m in college studying business which I find really cool but there’s so much you can do with a business degreee and I still don’t know which way to go. And I want to do something that I’m passionate about. Something that won’t have me counting the time until the end of the working day. Something that will make me happy.
These days I’m thinking about advertising but I don’t think I’m creative enough. That’s another thing… I want to do something colorful and fun but I think I lack the creativity for something like that.
Eat me (haha this sounds so strange), how exactly did you figure it out. Went to counseling? Made a list of strengths and weaknesses? How?
What are your hobbies? Anything you REALLY like doing? are you passionate about music, art? Fashion maybe, design? Anything like that?
Eatme I have some surgeon friends… They are all extremely strange. First of all you have to stay in school until you are 30 years old. Hope you have a rich father to pay for it. Secondly you will be dealing with death and bloody nasty injuries on a daily basis. It takes a special kind of person to deal with that. One of my friends joined the army as soon as he got out of medical school so that he would be sent to Vietnam. He said he wanted to get lots of practice and there was no shortage of mutilated bodies there. Sound like fun to you?
nope… nothing; Wow… on paper I’m a really boring person :D I really like cooking but I’m not especially good and I don’t think it’s the right thing to build my life on. I appreciate good music, art, fashion, and design but I’m completely incapable of producing anything myself. My family is all made of architects so I should be creative but I’m not. Or at least it’s very deeply hidden. I would love to be able to be like that though… to create something for the soul :)

yes , in a nutshell yes :)
i like havign structure, love school. and are you sure its 30?
naah its a bit younger than that
saving for it already :)
i can handle the death, i know i will be able to… just who i am i guess
i know that not everyone will live, thats life aye?
but i would feel sad of corse, but if i did the best i could and helped them to the best of my ability.
Gee that sounds extreme.
you cna’t change my mind on this one :)
How do you feel about decorating? Not christmas decorating i mean just basic color schemes for houses, restaurants etc..
Or, party planning? A catering buisness? You know, things you don’t know you can learn i know youre going to buisness school but there’s always other things after that..
Darkscorpia, I’ve thought about all of these you mentioned. My mum is doing interior design and I’ve been around it all my life. But it’s something that requires a lot of imagination. You know, going into an empty apartment and seeing everything in a unique and stylish way. I can’t imagine it even ugly let alone anything else :P The catering business was the last major thing I thought about. It’s still not out of the picture. Now it’s between that and something in advertising. And I’m sitll only 19 and about to finish my first degree at 20 so I know I have time to learn a lot of other stuff. I just want to have a direction. Otherwise I get miserable in any other aspect of my life.
In any case I find the business degree very useful because I want to start my own business one day… you know the whole independent thing :)
Thanks a lot for the help. I know no one can make this decision for me but I really appreciate someone listening and giving me advice!
you’re welcome sorry i couldn’t be of more help (well i’m directionless and lost :) ) take care!
If you also feel like telling me about yourself I’ll be happy to listen. I know it feels good to rant about things… even if it doesn’t really solve the problem :)You have so many things you’re interested in it amazes me :) And the mother thing.. it’s compatible with all of it; you’ll just be a working mother ;)
I love a lot of things theres so many things i want to try out but i don’t have time! I manage a restaurant and that’s good for my age, and i’m probably going to a cooking school next year but i get bored to easily.. i mean.. last year i got this computer scholarship (in programming etc..) which i loved.. and after doing it for a year… it drove me MAD. Completley MAD. lol i can’t imagine myself doing any one thing for the rest of my life, id want to change my career every three years or so because i don’t think i’d be happy otherwise. And i can’t get all the qualifications i need for all those jobs unless i keep going to school till i’m.. 50 xD but where i live you’re expected to make up your mind about what you want to do when you’re around 11/12 and i never managed that!
Did i mention i’m also interested in criminology, archeology, police work and gardening? xD there’s too much things! and they’re too varied! i can’t decide! but ranting felt awesome ! xD
I thought about it. And than I asked myself some questions. And than I thought about it some more. Than I wrote some of it down. And than I thought about what I wrote. And than I went for a walk outside and smoked a joint.
And I thought some again. Than I talked about it out loud with people who would listen. They replied. Than I thought about that. Than I listened to some music and danced a little. Made myself a mini pizza and thought some more.
Wow it seems that your case is the other side of the coin! You’re interested in so much! Yet we’re alike in some ways. I don’t really know you but you don’t seem like an office type of person :) Maybe that’s why you didn’t like programming- it involves a lot of time sitting in front of the computer which can get annoying I guess :P People keep telling me that I will resolve my problem if I keep reading about the various possible paths. Maybe the same applies to you :) Research deeply each of your interests. Try some of them on a part-time job or something similar and you’ll probably manage to distinguish between your greatest passion in life and the smaller ones ;) Once you do you will be able to pursue the others as hobbies. I know from experience this sounds so much easier said than done…. but everyone keeps giving me this advice and I decided to pass it on :D
If you don’t mind me asking how old are you? I’m just curious and you don’t have to answer that :)
thelma.dai, you just derscribed the past few weeks of my life :D (without the joint part if I have to be honest;)

You don’t have to be, but I appreciate it!

I’m 18 this year :) I don’t mind except sometimes your advice loses it’s importance when you speak your age so i don’t really do it much :) .. i’m really not the office type person hence the MADness haha. I’m going to try the research thing (properly because i did try just not enough i guess) and try and see which ones. Last time i ended up really interested in around six completley different careers so it was still confusing haha :D
We’re the same but oh so different xD
