When you stand next to me
It’s your eyes that pull me in
A simple smile fills me up with glee
But it seems even then

A crush that never seemed to heal
That kicked me down
And made me kneel
Seemingly easy yet unreal

Just a moment in the car
I should have paused and said to you
I love you just the way you are
But saying it was something new
Without it left an everlasting scar

Why couldn’t I just get it right
Tell you just the way I felt
But it faded into the night
And brought along my heart to melt

Would it have changed my thrall
Locked into this near miss
If I’d talked at all
Stolen her kiss
Or was this just not my call

Who is it written for? It’s good, but it seems a bit…jumpy….some bits the rhyming works but other places its just seems a bit… all over the place…
