In Windows XP (running on MacBook under VMfusion), when I download files (i.e.

‘Save As’ dialog appears) the download starts (creates the file name in the directory and the ‘.part’ temporary file) but the download stops and never completes.

Your using Windows XP on a macbook? That’s like giving vegetables to a lion, or a hamburger to a cow. It just doesn’t work.
